Join the LEAF Network

Every ecosystem is a classroom

LEAF is an international programme that empowers learners of all ages to reconnect with nature through outdoor learning and ecosystem restoration.

Whether you're a school, university, nature centre, NGO, community group, or another educational setting, there are different ways to become part of the LEAF network. Explore the pathways below to find the option that's right for you and become part of the global LEAF network.

If you are an educational setting

1. Check for a National Office

See whether LEAF is coordinated in your country by one of our National Operators. They provide local support, training and access to resources.

No National Operator in your country?

If you are an International School without access to a National Operator, you can join LEAF directly through the FEE Head Office during the annual registration period (December–January).

Please note that FEE Membership includes an annual membership fee.

If your organisation wants to coordinate LEAF nationally

1. Check for an Existing National Operator

If LEAF is already established in your country, we encourage you to connect with the existing National Operator to explore opportunities for collaboration.

1. No National Operator in your country?

LEAF is coordinated globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Organisations wishing to lead LEAF nationally can apply to become a FEE Member and serve as the official LEAF National Operator.

As a National Operator, you will receive:

  • The complete LEAF implementation framework

  • Operational guidance and ongoing support

  • Access to educational resources and training

  • Membership of FEE's global network

  • The ability to coordinate LEAF nationally and award LEAF recognition

  • Access to international campaigns and partnerships, including the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration

Please note that FEE Membership includes an annual membership fee.

3. Not ready to join yet?

You can still begin your LEAF journey by:

  • Using freely available resources

Every action contributes to reconnecting people with nature and supporting ecosystem restoration.
